Strapping bands are used to hold together all kinds of goods, such as with single cardboard boxes or bundling together several pallets through to securing whole pallets. They can be placed horizontally or vertically around the packaged items. Their tensile strength is considerable, but the bands themselves are not elastic, as is the case with sanstrap® stretchbands for instance, and if the packed items give during transportation they can slip down or off and become ineffective. Furthermore, they can only be used with appropriate strapping band equipment. As the edges of the cardboard boxes can be easily damaged, packing protective corners are often used additionally here.
Strapping bands are available in differing qualities, which are described briefly here:

PP strapping bands are cheap to buy and have a breaking load up to approx. 340kg.
